When I was teaching grammar…like grammar is something you can actually teach…I wrote a sentence to show my students they already knew grammar. “I put a gavatch in the kafregaldorf and got a crambon.” Heads nodded, and they got it. Grammatically it’s a perfectly fine sentence.
So…if you can speak a language, you understand its grammar. You don’t really need to learn a lot more than how to parse a sentence, the usefulness of which is highly suspect.
As to the meaning of gavatch, kafregaldorf and crambon, I’m willing to bet there are few readers who fail to envision a machine dropping an icing coated, cellophane wrapped crambon to the bottom tray behind the little “push-me-open” door.
