I think we all have seen signs saying “Speed Bump.” The meaning of that warning is pretty clear. And if you read my blogs, you’ll know about “Speed Cushions,” brought to you compliments of the city of Redmond, Oregon.
A recent drive through a neighborhood in the hills south of Sandy, Oregon brought us to a new word to describe speed bumps…or speed cushions…with the simple, direct warning of “Hump.”
I’d be interested in knowing of any creative efforts by other cities to “soften” the humps, bumps, and speed cushions in our roads, streets and parking lots. Let me know.
