I had my fishing boat, one I’ve owned since 1999, up for sale for about an hour yesterday. I had decided to simplify my life. I told myself I could always rent a boat if I wanted to fish Diamond Lake…or Paulina Lake.
And then some guy stopped his pickup at the end of my driveway and stared at the boat. I panicked. I’m suddenly thinking, “Stay away from my boat. Do not come into my driveway. Go away! What am I going to say? I know, I’ll lie and say it’s already sold, and I forgot to take the sign off.”
But, the driver did NOT pull into the driveway, and as he drove off, I snatched the For Sale sign off the boat. A moment of truth.
Is there a moral to this story? I don’t know, but I have come to believe that old age is not proof against stupidity.
What’s your story?

Reminds me of the sentiment attributed to Chief Seattle, Rod: How can I sell my mother?

I didn’t know about Chief Seattle, but the sentiment sounds about the same. Fish on…
